Our story set in 1971, tells the drama of the Paiva family living in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil under military dictatorship. Former congressman Rubens Paiva is arrested by the army one day and never returns. His wife Eunice and their five children are forced to reshape their lives after this tragic event. Eunice, taking on the roles of both a mother and an activist, struggles to keep her family together and fights to learn the fate of her missing husband. This film, directed by Walter Salles, is adapted from Marcelo Rubens Paiva's book and was Brazil's Oscar nominee.
