Double Life


Aiko travels to Kazakhstan to meet her despot father's unknown second family, whom she has not been in contact with for years, upon his death.


"Double Life" is about the experiences of 30-year-old Aiko after her father's death. Aiko, who believes her father, with whom she has not communicated for years, was a tyrant, goes to Kazakhstan to attend her father's funeral, feeling no emotion. Here, she encounters her father's second family for the first time. She has a stepmother who is the same age as her, an unacceptable sister, and a brother disconnected from the world. The strangest thing is that her father was a completely different person for this family. The film offers a story that questions family dynamics, confronting the past, and personal identity. It shows the audience how a person can have different personalities in different lives.

As for the audience experience, the depth of the characters in the film and the emotional richness of the story have impressed the viewers. Also, the realism of the shooting locations and atmosphere has been appreciated.
