Father 2: Grandfather


Max and Irina's marriage, which is close to divorce, is tested when they are forced to go after their son Dima, who has run away.


Max and Irina are on the verge of divorce and are not living together. Max comes to Irina's house to pick up their son Dima for the fall vacation, but they learn that Dima has run away from home. The worried parents set off in search of Dima in the car of Vlad, Irina's lover and also the family psychologist. During the journey, they learn that Dima's father Max has run away to his village. During the journey, Max remembers the days when his parents sent him to the village to live with his grandfather during the divorce process, the time they spent alone there, his first love and his childhood friends. While telling the story of Dima's search on the one hand, the film also looks back at Max's past, emphasizing the importance of family ties, love and memories.

The film takes viewers on an emotional journey and makes them think about family relationships and love. Max's flashbacks give the viewer a deep understanding of his character and his experiences.

The film was shot mostly in rural Russia.
