Fell for the Vote
"Fell for the Vote" tells an election story set in the town of Ovacik. Hidir Diri, the mayor from the right-wing party, tries every way to win the election again. During this process, he goes as far as imprisoning his radical left-wing nephew, Şilan, to prevent him from being a competitor. However, Şilan, who gets out of prison a few days before the election, changes the balances in the town. The operation of municipalities, power relations, property disputes, and the process of a community voting are humorously narrated through the eyes of a director in the film.
The film offers an experience that makes the audience laugh while making them think. It shows how people are manipulated during the voting process and how political power struggles are conducted. It provides a critical perspective on the operation of local administrations in Turkey.
