20-year-old Charlie is a finance student who returns to the family farm in Virginia to help her sick mother, Laura. Laura runs a chicken farm and has a different perspective on life. After a long time, Solange, Laura's mother and Charlie's grandmother, comes to the farm. Solange was just a child when she left America and therefore they have seen each other very little. Solange is a French, feminist, and eccentric woman. Now these three different women have to learn to live under the same roof.
