Inverse Trees (The Deleted Scene of Medea)

In the short film adaptation of Medea that I directed in 2021, one of the most important scenes was Medea's mental collapse. To reflect this collapse, I went to Casa de Campo with a mini DV and shot the trees with a negative filter. My goal was to capture images reminiscent of a breaking brain and its internal connections. This short film includes most of these shots, accompanied by a melody I composed with a slowed-down electric organ. The film offers a compelling narrative and strong character development that captures the viewers' interest. Medea, with her mental breakdown throughout the film, leaves a deep impact on the viewers.

The film was shot in Casa de Campo. This place hosted the shots of the trees symbolizing the breaking of brain connections in the film.
