L’attachement
The film "Commitment" tells the story of three different characters while examining the challenges of modern family structures. A young father tries to find his own power of love; a feminist librarian, determined not to have children and stay single, struggles to preserve her own lifestyle. A six-year-old child tries to find his place in a new family structure. The film impressively presents the desires, fears, and choices of these three characters. Director Carine Tardieu conveys to the audience different ways of forming a family and the challenges encountered in this process. The film made its premiere in the Horizons section of the Venice Film Festival and received various reactions from the audience.
