Malqueridas
Malqueridas focuses on the lives of female inmates serving long-term sentences in a Chilean prison. These women are also mothers, and their children are forced to grow up away from them. Inside the prison environment, they establish a bond of solidarity and love with other inmates who share similar experiences. The mutual support among these women becomes a form of resistance and liberation. Malqueridas reconstructs these women's stories through footage they took themselves with mobile phones, which are banned inside the prison. In this process, the collective memory of a forgotten community emerges. The film conveys to viewers the hardships, struggles, and solidarity power these women have experienced, engaging them in a compelling way.
