The clash of family secrets and traditions is depicted in sometimes funny, sometimes terrifying scenes. The film continues to occupy viewers' minds long after it ends. Rungano Nyoni, the director of the highly praised I Am Not a Witch (2017), addresses the complex issues and social realities of her homeland, Zambia, in this film as well.
