Opera National de Paris: Carmen

The play "Carmen" organized by the Opera National de Paris tells the story of a soldier lost in the spiral of love, betrayal and passion. Love at first sight between our main characters Don José and Carmen. Don José falls in love with Carmen during his mission to arrest her and helps her escape. During the months they run away together, Carmen gets tired of Don José's excessive jealousy and falls in love with Toreador Escamillo. In the meantime, Don José's mother falls ill and Micaëla cannot convince her to return home. Don José tries desperately to win Carmen back but fails. The play offers a painful example of how love and jealousy can drive a person crazy. The audience finds themselves in this story as they witness the complex relationships and psychological states of the characters.
