Petunia's Trial

Petunia's Trial tells the tale of a young man waging a fierce battle for survival and his beloved cat. The story is narrated through the eyes of Ahmet, a poor young man. While trying to get by with daily jobs, he also tries to pay the veterinary bill required for his dying cat, Petunia. Petunia, who is Ahmet's greatest support and also his burden, is one of the greatest sources of joy in his life. Ahmet's desperation and worry not only touch the audience's heart but also take them on a journey of hope. The film shows the love for animals and how sacrificial people can be even in hard times. The viewers can feel Ahmet's desperation and love and empathize with Petunia's condition. The film was shot in the backstreets of Istanbul, successfully creating a realistic atmosphere.
