Rape tells the story of Young-eun, a swimming teacher and single mother, and her 7-year-old daughter So-hyun. However, So-hyun's dog dies after falling from an apartment building and So-hyun begins to harass the other children at school. Her mother Young-eun does her best to deal with So-hyun's mental disorder, but So-hyun's strange behavior continues. Twenty years later, a man named Min, who deals with unclaimed deaths, meets a new colleague, Hae-young, and they form a close bond. However, as Hae-young begins to become warmly involved in Min's life, Min begins to feel uncomfortable about her intentions.

The film leaves a deep impact on the audience by emphasizing the characters' inner worlds and the difficulties they experience. Also, the story of a child with mental disorders and a mother trying to cope with him makes the audience empathize.
