Sukua's Toy

"Sukua's Toy" tells the story of a child of the Kogui community, Sukua, rediscovering his familiar lands and living spaces with a new toy water gun. Sukua examines the interior and exterior spaces of his home, the remnants of his community, and other elements that appear around the childish sweetness while playing with the water gun. The toy creates a striking contrast with its surroundings, creating both a childish cuteness and a tense atmosphere. In addition, the subject of violence implied by the toy water gun is also discussed, touching on Sukua's father's moral values. The film draws the audience into a child's world of innocence and discovery through Sukua's eyes, while also questioning the impact of modern toys on traditional ways of life.

The film was shot in the living spaces of the Kogui community. This gives viewers a glimpse into the natural and cultural environment of this largely isolated community.
