The Burden of Stupidity

"The Burden of Stupidity" is a story about a genius and a fool who struggle against societal narrow-mindedness. In the film, we have our genius character who stands against the general views and norms of society, with different thoughts and creative ideas. On the other hand, our fool character is someone who unquestioningly adheres to societal traditional thoughts and finds satisfaction in this. However, the extraordinary ideas and innovative thoughts of the genius attract societal backlash and they ostracize him. The fool character is accepted because he adheres to society's traditional thoughts. The film addresses the experiences of these two characters through the conflict between societal norms and individual freedoms. At the end of the film, the audience realizes that the genius is actually the fool, and the fool is the genius. This has a significant impact on the viewers and demonstrates how society's general views affect individual originality. A large part of the film was shot in the historical districts of Istanbul.
