The Fourth Wall

In 1982, the idealistic theater director Georges goes to Beirut, the capital of Lebanon, to fulfill a promise he made to an old friend. His aim is to stage the play Antigone in this city, where a civil war is raging, as part of a project that involves actors from different political and religious groups. Georges is guided by Marwan in this unfamiliar city and amid a conflict he does not understand. However, with the recommencement of the war, everything is called into question and Georges has to confront the reality of war while falling in love with Imane. This story exposes how conflicts, love, and art can intertwine. The film is shot in Beirut and despite the depth of the characters and the complexity of the story, viewers continue to watch, spellbound, until the end of the film.
