Kai is a retired man who begins to question his life due to a failed marriage and tense relationship with his daughter Zoie. Contemplating suicide, thinking his life no longer has meaning, he is saved by a street dog named Siu Nam. This incident creates a strong bond between Kai and Siu Nam. This bond leads Kai to meet Una, the manager of a local animal shelter, and soon Kai and Una become friends. Kai comes out of his defensive shell and mends his relationship with his daughter Zoie.
