"A Summer by the Danube" tells the story of how 17-year-old Adi's life changes after a homophobic attack he experiences in his village in Romania, where he spends his summer vacation. Adi realizes that the perspectives of his family and village change after he is brutally attacked on the street one night. The film reveals how the realities, prejudices, and corruptions of his family and village deepen Adi's disappointments and silent screams. Adi's best friend also strives to support him. The film managed to win the Oscar nomination for Romania and was highly appreciated by the audience.
