Underground Melodies

"Underground Melodies" is a documentary full of sorrow, telling the story of funeral music reaching its peak and the final moments of farewell to the deceased. The film follows musicians from all over Croatia, revealing in detail the diversity of funeral practices and accompanying music. Throughout the film, we witness a variety of musical genres that reflect the sorrowful atmosphere of farewell moments and convey the full emotional intensity of this process. In addition, the film gives the viewer a better understanding of the deep relationship between music and ritual and the role of music in funeral ceremonies. The documentary takes the viewer to funeral ceremonies in different parts of Croatia, showing how local people go through these painful moments and what role music plays in this process. The film was shot in Croatia.
