விடுதலை: பாகம் II tells the story of newly appointed police officer Kumaresan (portrayed by Soori). Kumaresan finds himself in a duty filled with moral conflicts. He also comes face to face with the revolutionary separatist leader Vaathiyar (portrayed by Vijay Sethupathi). Kumaresan's difficulties increase even more after the beloved Perumal is captured and he eventually has to make a choice between fulfilling his duties as a police officer and doing what is right. The film presents the dramatic conflict between the characters and the effects of their situation. The film offers a story that captures the viewer's attention and addresses the moral dilemmas, choices and consequences of the characters.
