ゴジラ-1.0

The relentless struggle of a former war pilot against the nuclear-powered giant monster, Godzilla.

In 1945, in the last days of World War II, Kamikaze pilot Koichi Shishima lands his plane on Odo Island due to technical failures. Here, he encounters a giant creature named Godzilla. The monster obliterates the island, but Shishima survives. Two years after the war, Shishima returns to Tokyo with his wife and child. Around the same time, news comes that Godzilla, mutated as a result of the nuclear tests in Bikini Atoll, has been destroying American warships and is heading towards Japan.

Godzilla is a thought-provoking film about the consequences of a nuclear disaster and the traumas of war. Shishima's character focuses on the psychological effects of war and individual struggles. The film impacts the audience with both its action-packed scenes and its profound messages.

The film was shot in Japan. Especially the devastated landscapes of Tokyo and Godzilla's destructive attacks offer the audience a realistic and impressive experience.
