Dark Winds
Set in 1971, on the Navajo Nation, near Monument Valley, the series "Dark Winds" follows two Navajo police officers, Lieutenants Joe Leaphorn and Jim Chee, on a horrific double murder case. Their attempts to solve the events lead them not only to the victim and the killer, but also to their own spiritual beliefs and the traumas of their past. While Leaphorn struggles with a series of seemingly unrelated crimes that need to be solved, Chee tries to close the accounts of his youth on the reservation. This complex and challenging story that the series offers to the audience deeply connects them to both a murder mystery and the personal dramas of the characters.
Viewers are taken on an emotional journey with the characters as they see their complicated pasts and how they deal with them. The rich culture and landscapes of the Navajo community also add a magical touch to the overall atmosphere of the series.
The series was filmed in the Southwest of the United States, amidst the unique landscapes of the Navajo Reservation and Monument Valley.
