Freedom Within Us - Let's Hurry to be Human

On September 16, 2022, young Iranian woman Jina Mahsa Amini was arrested by the Iranian morality police on the grounds of wearing an improper headscarf and lost her life in custody just three days later. Amini's sudden death sparked a wave of anger and solidarity worldwide. Even in Germany, Iranian exiles who fled the Iranian regime in the 1970s, together with young second-generation German-Iranians Jasmin Shakeri, Pegah Ferydoni, Natalie Amiri, and Enissa Amani took to the streets. Together, they are fighting for a free future where the Iranian society can also live fearlessly and honorably. The film was shot in various cities in Germany and the audience's reactions generally involve feelings of anger, sorrow, and solidarity.
