Our film "Pomegranate" focuses on the struggle of a young and politically liberal Iraqi Muslim immigrant to survive in a neighborhood inhabited by conservative Iraqi Christians. This young woman, who is our main character, must also struggle with her family's fear of poverty and demands for loyalty to Muslim traditions. The film skillfully deals with various cultural and religious conflicts, and the tension between personal freedom and family ties. Viewers closely follow the dilemmas of the main character and the attitudes of the surrounding community towards her, witnessing a deeply affecting story. The film was mainly shot in regions of America where Iraqi immigrant communities are dense.
