A decade later, Jérémie returns to his hometown of Saint-Martial in southeastern France to attend the funeral of Jean-Pierre, the town baker who was his former boss and maybe more. Vincent, the deceased man's son with latent violent tendencies, greets Jérémie with suspicion, but also feels an underlying desire. Martine, the baker's widow, offers him a bed and seeks more direct physical closeness. Jérémie also sparks ambiguous sexual tensions in farmer Walter and curious Father Grisolles. When Vincent suddenly disappears, suspicions immediately fall on Jérémie. The audience is drawn into the story unfolding among these complex characters and unexpected events.
The film particularly leaves a strong impact on the audience with scenes where the lines blur between Jérémie's past and present, and the townspeople's attitudes towards him change.
The film was shot in a rustic town in southeastern France, Saint-Martial.
