Our film titled "Pomegranate" explores the struggle of a politically liberal young Iraqi Muslim immigrant to survive in a neighborhood inhabited by conservative Iraqi Christians. This young woman, who is our main character, also has to grapple with her family's fear of poverty and demands for loyalty to Muslim traditions. The film skillfully portrays various cultural and religious conflicts, and the tension between personal freedom and family ties. By closely following the dilemmas encountered by the main character and the attitudes of society around her, viewers witness a story that deeply affects them. The film was mainly shot in areas of America with high concentrations of Iraqi immigrant communities.
