The main character of the film, Asada Nobu, is a young girl who runs at an extraordinary speed. At the beginning of the Showa period, Nobu's speed fascinates the town of Kochi. Yanai Takashi loses his father to illness at a young age and starts living with his uncle. He meets Nobu when he transfers to school. As the footsteps of war approach, Nobu continues to attend the women's normal school and becomes a fanatic militarist. The war begins and Takashi is sent to war. Takashi loses his younger sister Chihiro in the war and Nobu also loses the person he loves. After graduating from the women's school, Nobu's values change completely during the war and decides that he must find the right thing for himself. Therefore, she starts working as the first female reporter at a newspaper company in Kochi. The film impresses the audience with the change and resistance a woman experiences during wartime.
